The Saif House

Saifedean Ammous’ haven for reflection, venting and spewing venom

About

I realized only today that I spend too much of my time bothering my friends with emails and rants about things that annoy me in the world, and that this is getting so out of hand and irritating for my friends that it will probably cost me most my friendships. So I have decided it will probably be a better idea to vent into the abyss that is the blogosphere, where anything can be said and no one really pays attention, cares or gets upset. So in case you happen to stumble here, expect to find a lot of angry ramblings and venomous rants with liberal use of bad language about the most disgusting things in life, like stupidity, war, racism, and Zionism (forgive the redundancy).

About me: I’m a candidate for a PhD in Sustainable Development in Columbia University in New York. I was born and raised in Palestine, where I finished high school before going to the American University of Beirut for my undergraduate study. I then moved to London where I got a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics, and then came to New York.

Topics in this blog should include: Palestine, Middle East politics, economics, development, world politics, Palestine, US politics, football (not the American version, I mean real football), the environment, Palestine, science, climate change, and Palestine.

I will very frequently pick on some criminal moron somewhere and completely let rip with my most truly-felt emotions. Candidates for this ripping will generally be moronic supporters of Israel. Since I live in America, there is no danger of ever running out of these. I will also be celebrating the victories of my beloved Liverpool as they march towards another Champions League title. And expect to read a lot about issues of international development, environmental sustainability, global warming and the like.

You are also most welcome to comment, contribute and vent all you like–as long as your comments don’t annoy me too much. Racist comments will probably be deleted, if I manage to get round to it.

Enjoy. Or maybe not.

Your blog is refreshing for the frustrated soul that is mine. Why have you stopped writing?
